ASTM F2413-05 standards require the toe-cap to be designed and built as an integral part of the footwear, and able to withstand a compression of 1750 to 2500 pounds (depending on rating specification) of force before the cap starts to crush or crack.
Electrical Hazard rated boots protect the wearer from electrical hazards if they step on a live wire (up to a certain voltage level) because of the non-conductive electrical shock resistant soles and heals. To be EH rated, footwear must first pass impact and compression resistance tests (i.e., incorporate ASTM approved steel toes). EH ratings are attained through an independent testing facility.
The Chip-A-Tex Waterproof bootie surrounds your foot to keep the worst weather away from your skin, and the Dri-Lex lining wicks moisture away from your skin to keep the foot dry and comfortable.
