Posted by foxcreekleather on Apr 20th 2009

The Freedom Ride for Dystonia is a benefit poker run to raise money for research on dystonia, a movement disorder that can cause painful and disabling involuntary muscle contractions and spasms to the whole body or various parts. Currently, there’s no cure and treatment options don’t always work.

The ride will start and end at Old Glory Harley-Davidson, 11800 Laurel Bowie Road, Laurel MD 20708.

Ride registration will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and cost $30. Poker sheets must be turned in by 3 p.m. to qualify for the $250 grand prize for best hand. The event after the ride will feature food, a live band, vendors, door prizes and raffles. The first 100 ride registrants get a free T-shirt, and admission to the event without the ride will cost $20. The benefit will take place rain or shine.

All proceeds go to the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation – – a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to raising awareness, patient/family support and money for research on dystonia. For more information, contact Debbi at 301-725-1335 or
