Fox Tail Ride 2023

Ride With a Purpose~October 14, 2023

The 2023 Fox Tail Ride is On and going to be better than ever!
The ride is always a good time and this year we hope the leaves will be red, yellow and orange and we'll get to see some beautiful scenery.  We will be dedicating the ride to help two local Super Heroes who have had to fight many more battles at tender ages than many of us ever will ever have to deal with (see below).

There will be a $20 per bike donation which will be split between the two families listed below.  We will leave Fox Creek Leather at 9:30 am and take a 96 mile scenic ride through some of the prettiest farm country and mountains in Virginia. When we get back to Fox Creek Leather we will have a meal and door prizes. We have a great backyard for anyone who wants to camp out and head home the next day.

Meet Mighty Max. Max is always smiling and that is just one of his super hero powers. Max is 11 years old and has been fighting leukemia for 7 years. Max and his momma Emily are going to be going to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh soon where he will be receiving treatment that will hopefully get him on the way to recovery. We all know how expensive it is to travel and stay out of town for long periods of time and I know you will want to help take some of the burden off of them so they will have one less thing to worry about.

Meet our tiniest super hero, Skylar was born 5 weeks early on 5-27-23 with many health problems. He was placed on a vent for under developed lungs and at a couple days old he was diagnosed with E.coli which led to sepsis. The sepsis then attacked his small intestine, shortly after he required emergency surgery to remove most of his bowels. For 8 weeks Skylar had double colostomy bags until he became healthy enough for second surgery to reconnect his bowels on 7/20. He has had a few setbacks since the surgery and is still having a hard time with feeding. He will continue to be monitored in the NICU until he is able to tolerate feedings. Let's help this family out with the extra expenses that come along with long hospital stays.
