The Offset Dee Ring Snaffle Bit features a 5" sweet iron mouth with a copper inlay and 3" offset dees. This bit has a slightly curved, jointed mouthpiece. A snaffle bit is the most common bit used. With the d ring bit style, pressure is applied directly to the horse's mouth. These bits work on the bars of the mouth, the corners of the mouth and the tongue. The rings help prevent the bit from pulling through the horse's mouth. Sweet iron is intended to rust, it produces a sweet taste as rusting occurs. The copper inlay causes the horse's mouth to salivate which allows the mouth to stay soft and useable to the rider.
