Perfect Jacket and Customer Service
Posted by RME on Jul 26th 2015
This has been a perfect jacket. After having an armored textile jacket for some time I decide a more traditional leather jacket would be look a bit better when wondering around off the bike. So I looked for one that would be protective, and was designed for riding, and came in a tall size. This was it. The jacket is immediately comfortable on the bike (forward riding position Daytona 955i) and the CE armor fits well and unobtrusively. It also does not shift, so in fall armor would be in intended place. The ventilation is surprisingly good - above 30 mph its comfortable even in mid 80s, humid weather. I suspect if you are out in mid 90s it would be a bit warm. But then anything but a mesh jacket would be.
At the price its a great value. I have been riding in it for the summer and so long as I don't crash in it or get a lot larger the thing will last indefinitely.
Customer service is also brilliant. It took me a while to find the right size and the people at Fox Creek were polite and helpful. Perhaps I can save others some effort here. Do not order based on suit or topcoat or any other size from existing clothes. Put on whatever layers you would wear for cold weather, have someone else measure your chest with a cloth measuring tape at its largest circumference and order that size. Jacket should be snug in the winter and a bit loose-but not too loose- in summer. I am 6'3" and tall size works well. Regular should be OK for 6' and under; much more than 6'4" might require a special order.
And note special orders here are reasonably priced and delivered quickly (e.g., extra tall, brown instead of black - they didn't have existing stock in my size so I had to order it, and it came in about half the time they promised.)

I just received this jacket as a Christmas gift. Wow! I've never seen such a high quality motorcycle jacket. This jacket is extremely well made, heavy, and warm. The fit is perfect!

I have had this jacket for over 4 years and it looks brand new, I have ridden in low 30 degree weather with just a t-shirt under the jacket with the liner and stayed warm. The quality is the best, far superior than Harley Davidson jackets. Well worth the price and fits true to their guidelines. Without liner and vents open, even comfortable in 80 degree weather. Buy it now, it will be the last jacket that you will need!
It doesn't get any better than this!!!

I purchased my Commander Motorcycle jacket about a year ago now and wanted to wait to use it for a season before I rated it.
I LOVE this jacket!!!! This is old school handmade craftsmanship that has all but vanished from our society. This is the top of the mountain guys, it just doesn't get any better than this. The build quality and the caliber of the leather used is unsurpassed in the industry!!!
I have ridden in 40 degree temps at 70 mph and been toasty warm, not to mention that it fits like a tailor custom made it for me. I have owned many leather jackets but none come anywhere close to replicating the quality of this jacket.
The pride in manufacture is written all over this jacket. Premium bang for the buck as they say!!! I fully intend to purchase many items from these good people in the months and years to come.
Bravo Fox Creek Leather, well done !!!!!!

I purchased this jacket about a month ago after reading some really good reviews about Fox Creek Leather on a motorcycle forum. I can honestly say that as soon as I opened the box I was so impressed with the quality that I could not wait to try it out. The first time I took it out was on a seasonally warm day (mid 80's). With the liner out and all the vents open I was remarkably comfortable. I was very surprised that this thick leather breathed so well. This jacket will undoubtedly keep me very comfortable well into the 90's. I was a little disappointed that on this very first ride I noticed that one of the collar buttons had broken. It had to have been defective so I called customer service and Terri was such a great help. She sent me a replacement jacket and a shipping label to send the defective buttoned jacket back since I had only worn it once.
When I got the new jacket the weather had turned much cooler. I took a two hour ride with the liner in and some thermal shirts on. It was in the 40's to 50's that day and I was very comfortable again.
Also, the leather is so heavy duty that I am confident it would provide the very best protection in the event of a crash. The buttons and zippers are heavy duty too. All of the pockets are very convenient and I can carry my handgun in the front pocket with ease. The leather is so soft and supple that it's extremely comfortable and perfect for everyday wear - even when you're not riding.
Due to the exceptional quality and lifetime guarantee, I expect that this jacket will last for many, many years. I was so impressed with the jacket and the excellent and friendly customer service that I just ordered a belt and a new pair of riding gloves. They arrive tomorrow so I will review them soon. If all goes well with them then I'll be ordering saddlebags and a vest in the spring!! Thank you Fox Creek Leather!
Commander Motorcycle Jacket at Faaker See
Posted by Nicola on Sep 10th 2013
I recently purchased my Commander Motorcycle Jacket and decided to test it to go the the European Harley Davidson gathering at Faaker See in Austria.
The quality of the leather is excellent and does not need to be worn in. Comfortable and very stylish, is much better than other well known motorcycle jackets I have owned in the past.
As Fall is about to start, I am looking forward to wearing it in the Northern part of Italy, where I am currently living. Fox Creek Leather has met my highest expectations and made an Italian customer very satisfied. In this time of mass produced Asian products, thanks for ensuring top quality and hand made products!

Great high quality product that is impressive and comfortable right out of the box. Excellent customer service by people who really know their product and can make spot on recommendations for a proper fit.

This jacket is one of the heaviest jackets I've ever owned and the most comfortable. It was broke in the day it arrived (took about 4 days for me to get it). The fit and quality is spot on. The map pocket is nice and roomy. My full size colt 1911 .45 fits perfectly in the map pocket and is very accessible. Yes, it is a bit pricy but worth every penny in my opinion being made in the USA and having a lifetime warranty!! Only thing I would add to it is some zipper pulls. I took some leather boot laces and put on mine so it would be easier to zip with gloves on.
Thanks Fox Creek Leather!!!
My Four Observations
Posted by Lucky Jack on Mar 23rd 2013
Until now, I've only worn classic-style motorcycle jackets in the $150-$200 price range and had a difficult time justifying the price. The other jackets were top-grain leather, not naked cowhide, and typically made in Pakistan, not America. Everything you read in the other reviews about the quality and suppleness of this product is true.
First observation: The Commander Motorcycle Jacket is worth the money -- even to a tight-wad like me.
I wear sleeveless tee shirts and I've had jackets where the mesh lining was uncomfortable. I was worried that this one would be no different. But it was different.
Second observation: The mesh lining in the Commander Motorcycle Jacket is comfortable.
I put 12K miles a year on my bikes and almost always wear a jacket -- even in Texas and Arizona when it is above 95 deg. And when it is cold (30's is cold to me), I use a plug-in full-sleeve liner.
Third observation: The arm and back vents work great. However, when zipped up tight, I still feel a little cold air leaking through the closed arm vents. Not bad, just noticeable.
From a design perspective, I couldn't tell from the pictures or description whether or not the collar snapped down and does not flap at speed. It does snap down. Also, the pockets are really well thought-out but big enough to lose stuff. Fourth observation: The Left Snap and Right Zipper inside pockets are great, but I'd prefer the left snap pocket to be smaller. Also, I would consider reversing them so riders without cruise control could easily access the snap pocket at speed. Those who carry a firearm might disagree.
As far as Fox Creek Leather customer service goes -- it cannot be beat. Follow their sizing recommendations and you cannot go wrong. I am now a customer for life.
Great warmth, comfort and protection
Posted by Larry on Jan 30th 2012
After nearly 5 decades of riding and numerous cycle jackets, I've finally found one that works that I've worn for several years and tens of thousands of miles, the Commander! With the full arm length liner and neck warmer I've ridden comfortably into the lower 20's along with my Fox Creek Leather chaps.
It's heavy and protective but flexible and very comfortable. The leather and craftsmanship are second to none and I've had my share of U.S. Vansons and Scottish Aeros. While those manufacturers make a great product, they are stiff and uncomfortable for tens of thousands of break-in miles while the Fox Creek Leather comes "broken in", ready to put on the big miles and avoids the discomfort of initial hard spots and fatigue.
I also have a Fox Creek Leather Classic and find the Commander's side pockets placed just right for me as well as being very spacious, just one of many small things that in my opinion improves upon the Classic, at least for my build. While I'd say any Classic 50's style jacket is a triple, the Commander is a home run.
