Ride for Children Iron Butt to take place June 13 and 14, 2009 (Saturday and Sunday). Ride will benefit the Samaritan Inn … the only homeless shelter in Collin County!
This ride will depart from Harley-Davidson of Dallas in Allen (KSU) at 5:00 a.m. and will go to Amarillo Harley-Davidson to Vega, Texas and back to Harley-Davidson of Dallas in Allen for the SaddleSore 1000. For those interested in going for the BunBurner 1500, the route will continue from Amarillo on to Albuquerque Harley-Davidson and back to Allen. The Iron Butt Association allows up to 24 hours to complete a SaddleSore 1000, up to 36 hours to complete a BunBurner 1500, and only 24 hours to complete an ‘Xtreme’ BunBurner GOLD 1500. A disclaimer regarding the BunBurner GOLD:
WARNING: Before you can apply for Bun Burner Gold certification (1,500+ miles in 24 hours), you must have at least completed one of the following; a SaddleSore 1000, a Bun Burner 1500 (1,500 miles in 36 hours), a SaddleSore 2000 (or other similar IBA ride), the Alberta 2000, Minnesota 1000, TimberButt, Tarbutt Rally, Utah 1088, any Cognoscente Group event, any MERA event, or the Iron Butt Rally.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Other 24 and 36 hour rallies qualify. Their omission here is not intentional, it is just not possible to list all qualifying rallies. If you are unsure if a rally you finished is acceptable, please contact email@example.com.
