Leather weight refers to the thickness of the leather. It can be measured in millimeters as a thickness or as a weight in ounces. Each ounce corresponds to approximately 1/64th of an inch of thickness. We list both values for your convenience.
When deciding on a leather weight there is a trade off between a thicker leather, which maximizes protection and durability, and a thinner leather which may be lighter and more comfortable. In all of our products we have tried to maximize toughness without compromising wearability.
