*Occasionally orders come in so quickly that sold out options still show up as available. Sorry we cannot apply sale pricing to backorders, previous orders, special orders, other discounts or out of stock sizes.

Please note: Hardware may vary between antique brass and gunmetal (black) hardware. If you desire a specific style, please contact us for availability.

*Some of our Men's Commander Motorcycle Jackets do not have the armor pockets. If you have a preference, please let us know in the customer notes section during checkout.

The Men's Commander Motorcycle Jacket has a full sleeve removable insulated liner, neck warmer, dual inside pockets, and a Velcro® cinching system at the waist. Armor provisional pockets in the elbows, shoulders, and back allow you the option of using body armor with your motorcycle jacket (back armor and shoulder and elbow armor available separately). The venting system has two arm vents, two rear exit vents and a front vent that runs down the inside edge of the generous exterior map pocket. Contents of the map pocket are secured when the vent is unzipped by the top snap on the pocket flap and a Velcro® closure that runs parallel to the zipper inside the pocket. There are three additional inside pockets inside the map pocket. An elastic cord with a clip is secured inside the map pocket. Anything you want to be able to access quickly can be clipped to the end and stowed in one of the inside pockets.

A thin bead of conservative braid trim runs down both sides of the front and across the shoulder yoke in the back of the leather jacket. Classic styling with good venting and an easily accessed storage area combine to make this one of our best selling motorcycle jackets.

NOTE:
T-Pro Armor may not fit all shoulder pockets unless it is trimmed to fit. Elbow and back armor should fit correctly without trimming.

There's a review on the website that says when you pull the jacket out of the box, it seems to gain weight. That guy wasn't kidding.

This leather is soft and smooth. It's fantastic. I received my jacket at work and I've had multiple coworkers touch the jacket and just keep petting it. I went to my second job and was asked how much I paid for it. After telling him how much my jacket cost, he scoffed and said he'd never pay that much for a jacket. I told him to touch the jacket. He was skeptical (about me asking him to feel it) but after feeling how soft and thick it was, he changed his mind.

The fit is exactly what I needed. When I talked with the customer service rep, I gave my measurements and was told that I should go one size higher than what I thought. I took her advice and when I received my jacket, it fit perfectly. I received multiple compliments on how this jacket just seemed to fit me better than my previous one (personality wise as well).

The pockets are huge. The inside pockets are almost too big. The big map pocket is massive. I can actually fit my Blackhawk inside and that's a very large revolver. I can fit my laptop inside this pocket, which will be nice when I have to hop on the bike to go work on someone's local area network (I'm a computer tech). I won't have to worry about bags or my laptop bag.

I don't ride on ice, so the closest I could come to testing the jacket vs the cold was opening all the windows in my truck. Without the liner, at about -10 degrees, I was fine with gloves and jacket on. I still had the windshield (so it's not 'really' like the 'cycle) but at no time did I feel cold.

I also decided that I'd wear the jacket indoors in the tech area to see if I'd overheat. With the liner out and no open vents, I was able to wear the jacket indoors, sitting at a computer for a couple hours with no heat problems. I don't see heat being an issue on those hot days with open vents and a nice breeze as I cruise around town.

Shipping was great. I ordered my jacket right before the weekend and I received it bright and early Tuesday morning. All the customer service reps I talked to were fantastic. I called multiple times to ask questions and emailed multiple times (probably to the point where they were getting sick of talking to me) but I never received anything but fantastic customer service. My thanks to all of the wonderful ladies who I conversed with.

I'm a cynic when it comes to product reviews. I read all the reviews on the Fox Creek website and thought, well, this sounds good BUT... After wearing this jacket and dealing with the fine people at Fox Creek Leather, I won't be cynical anymore (at least when it comes to them). I'll be purchasing a belt, chaps, and bags here just as soon as I can.

Thanks again for the wonderful (Made in the USA) customer experience!

Everything I had hoped for and then some. 2007-02-14

The quality of this jacket has exceeded my expectations. I knew the jacket would be good from what I had read about it but I was even more impressed when I received it. The Commander is very solidly constructed and has a nice heavy weight when you pick it up. The fit is comfortable and perfect and of course it looks awesome. It's everything you want a riding jacket to be.

One thing I was pleasantly surprised to see that I couldn't find on the website is a provision for armor. In the mesh lining of the jacket there are pockets sewn in for shoulder, elbow and back armor with Velcro closings. So although they don't sell armored jackets, you can pick some armor up from your local bike shop and just throw it into the jacket.

I highly recommend the Commander or any other Fox Creek leathers to anybody looking for the best riding gear out there at the best price. I also bought a vest and will be looking at replacing my cheap chaps I bought from a "quality" leather shop here in Calgary.

Thanks Fox Creek for top quality products, excellent prices and great customer service.

I am speechless!! 2007-06-21

by John from ,

I got my jacket last night and wore it to our Steakhouse in Corning and I am Speechless..... According to my wife it's the first time ever.

The box didn't appear to be very heavy until I started to remove the jacket and I swear it gained 15 lbs after it came out of the box.

When I got it unwrapped and laid on the counter all I could do was look at it. The Commander is everything I have always wanted.

The look, the feel, the weight, the style, the functionality, the map pocket, the lanyard, the vents. Everything is just like you said, and I am dumbfounded.

The smell of the leather is killer as well. I have not experienced any color running or anything even close.

The Fox Creek Commander is quite simply "THE BEST". I've only worn it one night and this morning, and several women already have had their hands all over it, the jacket, not me.

This jacket is built to last and protect you, it has amour slots, however I don't think you would need any amour with the Fox Creek Commander. The leather is THICK and HEAVY and I LOVE it.

I was very warm this morning riding in to work. I did not require the liner, I pulled that out first and probably won't need until Winter. The remaining liner works great with the mesh so air can flow through. The map pocket is perfect, the right size and the right accessibility with a snap top entry, a zipper to the vents(very cool) and a Velcro strip as well, comes in handy for quick closure to keep anything from flying out while riding, then you can either Velcro or zip it closed or leave it zipped down for venting. Inside the map pocket you have several pockets for just about anything you want to carry. The lanyard is strong and durable with a quality "clip", what ever you clip to this will not fly away. There are two inside pockets right on the zipper on the right and left sides. One side snaps and the other side zips. The left side with the snap is accessible without having to unzip the jacket all the way, very cool for that pesky cell phone if you don't want it in the map pocket. Both pockets are DEEP. I don't know why you wouldn't wear this in a knife fight, it would give you plenty of protection that's for sure. Even though the warranty doesn't cover knife fight damage, you can bet money that I will be wearing my Fox Creek Commander jacket in MY next knife fight!

Commander 2008-04-08

Now that I have had time to ride with the Commander jacket several times, I want to give you a review for the testimonial section. I searched and read reviews on-line for a long while about quality motorcycle jackets and one company name kept coming up more than any other. My overall feeling is very positive: both satisfaction with the purchase and service from the company. I was very pleased to be able to find an American-made jacket of high quality at what I feel is a very competitive price. Mail-order can be a risky venture on something as important as personal riding gear. But my experience mirrors what most people have said about Fox Creek in other reviews. They are honest, helpful folks. Call them and you won't be talking to a call center in the third world.

Pros: Dealing with a company with good customer satisfaction history. Lifetime guarantee covers the workmanship and materials as long as you own it. Thick but soft leather, cut for good freedom of movement in the arms and shoulders, no chaffing or binding. The heavy feeling of the jacket disappears when you sit on the bike. It is a motorcycle jacket, not a hiking jacket. The benefit of all that weight is enhanced safety. Company fitting recommendations were pretty accurate. At 5'10" and 200 lbs I wear a 48 sport coat and ordered a size 50 jacket. Good fit. Warm, I have been riding in 45 degree 50 minute commutes without the liner and only my legs get cold (chaps next I guess). I also wore it this weekend in the 70 degree range with the back vents open and was very comfortable. I am sold on the vents! Do not buy a leather jacket without them. The chest pocket must have been designed by someone influenced by the Swiss Army Knife people. It easily holds a long fold highway map, compass, your Browning, and the Lord knows what else. Last but not least, it is good looking. I also bought a pair of the Deer Tours gloves and can recommend them.

Cons: HARD TO CHOOSE between so many excellent products. I had also considered the Classic II. I picked the Commander for it's features and style. The Commander is a longer jacket than I would prefer for my average torso length. Longer than the Classic II or a typical flight jacket. I would prefer this style an inch or two shorter. The bottom of the jacket rests on my thighs when seated, noticeably at first. But now that I have worn it a few times, it is breaking in and getting more comfortable all the time. This is an armor-ready jacket (one reason I picked this one), but at this time, there is no armor offered through Fox Creek. They are researching this. I really want to add the panels. It would be great if Fox Creek had the proper fitting pieces of armor on hand. I am sure they will one day. I will keep checking the web site.

I received my Commander Jacket and DeerTours Gloves two days ago and was very impressed with the quality of both. I have worn the jacket with the liner in 40 degree weather at 4:00 in the morning and without the liner in the afternoon in 70 degree weather and was pleased that I was not cold or hot. The ventilation system is great! Although I have not purchased it yet, I am excited that this jacket has provision for armour. I was also impressed with the fast shipping. Two days! Thanks for a great quality jacket made here in the U.S. I will definitely be back for more!

Just a short message of thanks, my jacket has arrived and what an outstanding jacket it is too. I am very happy with the quality of the jacket and the outstanding service I received from your company. I will be traveling to the Australian national Harley Owners Group rally in late October and will be more than happy to endorse your company and gear to anyone who asks where I got the jacket and vest from. I have no doubt that I will be checking out your internet site in the near future and submitting another order.

Satisfied Customer 2008-06-25

by Randall from Big Bend, Texas

94 of 179 people found this review helpful.

My Foxcreek Leather Commander jacket arrived yesterday. I hadn’t been planning to buy a new bike jacket, but my old one, a German police jacket, blew out of my sidecar somewhere along Hwy. 67 through Texas’ Big Bend country a couple of weeks ago and has not been seen since (by me at any rate). So, I got on the Internet and started looking for bike leather. While doing a Google search I saw an advertisement for Foxcreek Leather. I’ve read good things about Foxcreek on a number of motorcycle related web sites and a buddy has one of their Classic jackets he likes a lot, so I clicked on their link to check it out. The web site was well laid out and easy to navigate. The very large photos available of their products made shopping and comparing features easy. Their prices were higher than some, but, call me a chauvinist, I prefer to buy American when I can.

I decided the Commander jacket had the collection of features that interested me the most. It was clearly a motorcycle jacket, but not gaudy with excess chrome zippers and snaps. The venting system appealed to me as I live in Texas’ Big Bend country in the Chihuahuan Desert where summer temps regularly hit 110 F +. The large front map pocket was an interesting feature and looked useful.

I called to place my order. I could have placed the order online, the instructions were clear and easy to understand, but I like to talk to a real human being occasionally, especially if the possibility exists that I might have to send something back. The lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and helpful. The jacket duly arrived.

The weight of the jacket is impressive; this is motorcycle leather, not a fashion accessory. The beautiful pebbled finish of the naked vat-dyed leather is buttery soft and smells wonderful. I am 6’ tall, weigh about 220 pounds and measure 49” around the chest and 50” around the belly (I’m working on it) when wearing my usual vest of many pockets. I wanted a slightly loose fit to allow for ventilation in the summer, and I generally wear a light-weight down jacket under my leather in the winter so I told the lady I thought a size 52 regular would work. She agreed, but told me I could exchange it if the fit didn’t suit. It fit perfectly.

One of the features that had particularly interested me was the provision for inserting foam armor pads. I have a set of Bohn armored undergarments that I bought from their booth at Laguna Seca a couple of years ago. The mesh shirt and pants that carry the armor have to be worn under your street clothes and are hard to get into, hot, and make you look like an over-muscled action figure, so haven’t been worn much. I took the armored pads from the shirt, and, with a little trimming, fitted the elbow, shoulder, and back pads into the pockets provided in the lining of the Commander jacket. They vanished; you can’t tell there is any armor in the jacket, to look at it, and they are not too hot or uncomfortable while riding.

I’ve been wearing the Commander jacket for a week now during my 40 mile round trip commute into Presidio and back everyday. I alternate riding my 2002 Victory Classic Cruiser and Knucklehead bobber, both of which have wide bars and an upright riding position. The jacket’s arms are correctly angled for comfort on the bikes and the heavy leather does not flap in the wind. It is June in the Chihuahuan Desert and afternoon temperatures on the Rio Grande are running 115 – 120 F (it’s a DRY heat). The jacket is hot when the bike is not in motion, but with any kind of forward movement the vents, bordering the map pocket, along the inside of the upper arms, and at kidney height in back, work very well.

The map pocket is worth comment. The front zipper, in classic biker leather style, is offset to the right, running up to the right shoulder. The right edge of the 13” map pocket is accessed via a zipper with a snap shut pocket flap at the top. When the zipper is open, a mesh insert allows air to enter the jacket’s interior right at body center-line. The right side of the pocket is held closed by a hook & loop flap as well as the top flap snap. Un-snap the top flap, rip open the hook & loop strip, and the very large pocket is accessible; this is easily accomplished even while wearing gloves. The revealed pocket is easily large enough for a folded highway map, a magazine, or a book. Inside the map pocket are two additional pockets, one, large enough for a pair of sunglasses, cell phone or small camera, on the inside of the flap, and the second, inserted into the body side, is edged with leather and lined with a heavy-weight nylon material. My Air-weight S&W .44 Special snubby drops right in and is invisible when the pocket is closed. There is also an elastic lanyard with a snap clip that could be used to retain a small camera or other such object; very cool.

Altogether I am very satisfied with my Foxcreek Leather Commander jacket and can recommend it without reservation to any cyclist who desires a quality American-made motorcycle leather that is comfortable and possesses innovative, practical design features.

Best Leather Jacket I have ever owned!!!! 2009-10-13

The day I received my commander motorcycle jacket I pulled it out of the box, put it on and jumped on my motorcycle and went for a 3 day drive. WOW!!! The weight of the jacket, the smell of the new leather, nothing but quality. I went from riding in 85 degrees to 40 degrees all in a 3 day trip without the liner. I was comfortable in both extremes due to the special vents!

I went to a bike show during this same time and people could not stop admiring the jacket, they all wanted to touch it and look at the quality.

I have purchased many leather jackets over the years, even paid more than this jacket, but never received the quality that this jacket has. I will never purchase another leather jacket from any one else.

Best leather, American made. Fox Creek should be proud.

Thanks for your craftsmenship!!!

Great Jacket 2008-02-24

by Ray Wiercinski from Depere, WI

This commander jacket is much more then I had expected. It is very heavy yet comfortable. Does not get tight reaching or turning. The venting is a big plus on those hot days. I tried on a lot of jackets, but this style just caught my eye and I had to have it. Very pleased. A lot of people are noticing it and asking about it and I am recommending it.

The jacket was ordered, sent and received. Too small, returned and the new one was to me in ten days. No heartburn and spoke with real people. Fox Creek customer service is the mark all businesses should emulate. The jacket is total quality in every detail. Once on, I wore it the better part of the afternoon and evening (90+degrees that day). I have owned and ridden motorcycles for forty years and have not seen nor owned a leather jacket of this quality. Make your next set of leathers Fox Creek, you can't go wrong; they won't let you! My follow up order is in the mail as I write this review. My thanks for the wonderful service and superb leather products. You have my endorsement and I will spread the word about Fox Creek Leather. Ride smart, ride safe!
