After all this time of looking at this vest on-line, I was finally able to obtain it. I could not be happier. It is everything I hoped it would be.

From the moment I received the vest, I have worn it. The leather, stitching and fit are perfect. I ordered a 46 even though I measure 48. The laces adjusted perfectly and fit like it was custom made.

Great quality vest

40 Years Experience

Having ridden motorcycles for over 40 years you can imagine the amount of riding leathers, leather jackets and vests etc I've accumulated over the years as Janet, my wife, often reminds me (she also rides a Harley).

I thought I'd seen the best the leather industry had to offer, but discovering the Fox Creek Leather web-site recently, I obviously hadn't. I must admit I was surprised how good the clothing and the quality looked, explaining to Janet "I really think I need another vest." So I immediately sent off for the Classic Vest. Perfect

I was really drawn to this vest and after thinking about it for a couple of weeks, I finally ordered it. I called to ask for measurements, but was told there weren't any in stock to go by. Although disappointed that I would have to wait up to 6 weeks to get it, I followed the measuring chart on this site and ordered accordingly. To my surprise the vest showed up in about 2 weeks and I was impressed the moment I pulled it out of the wrapper. Heavy duty construction and understated looks - a simply elegant vest that I am proud to wear! Oh and the fit? Perfect. I'm impressed enough that I will be purchasing a jacket next!

How did I find Fox Creek Leather?

I had been wanting a vest for about seven years to wear when I rode my Kawasaki 1500 Drifter. In September '06 I purchased a Harley-Davidson Streetglide FLHX-I.

I became a member of the local chapter of H.O.G. ''Harley Owners Group''. So I really needed the vest for chapter patches and also ride pins. The problem? Size. All the places I looked ,their products didn't have enough X's. You see I needed seven x's. All the shops I had been in only went to 6X.

I went on line. There were many online shops, so which one do I try? There was a cool attraction to the name Fox Creek. So I called the number that was on their website. The person on the other end was Tammy. Nice lady. I explained the situation of not enough X's and ask if they would make me a vest. She said she would have to check to see if possible and put me on hold. Shortly she returned to tell me yes. It would cost me (the cost of the vest plus alteration charges). I said I would have to think about it and would get back to her.

The search continued. Next I tried a company for the big, the tall, and the portly. They had a vest just like i had been looking for. The price was one hundred forty three plus shipping. I ordered the vest and received my package in four days. I noticed it didn't weigh very much, which was a bad sign. After opening the package, it looked good, but very thin. Made in China.

Just would not work. The fit was right, so I took total measurements and called Fox Creek. Again I was talking to Tammy, nice lady. Told her about the vest I had ordered and that I needed a quality product to wear proudly and made in the U.S.A. I told her the measurements of the vest and said ''what can you do''? she replied ''let me call the factory and ask the plant manager''. Few minutes later she came back and said, ''we can do that!''. Instantly I said, ''do it''. Total excitement took over and told Tammy thank you very much! She took all the credit information she would need and told me I would receive my quality vest in four to five weeks.

Now the hard part, the wait. Tammy had told me that she would call me when they were ready to ship. I lasted four weeks and called. Tammy was on another line so the lady on the phone said it should not be very much longer. Four days later, Tammy called with good news. Vest was ready to ship and would be delivered in four to five days! Got it in three. Picked up the package, weight was good. Opened the package the smell was real leather. The nose knows. Held the vest up,heavy, put it on, fantastic, felt good and it fit!

This vest will go as many miles as I can take it, and when I die it will go on that journey also. I will wear it proudly and Fox Creek leathers is what made it possible. Also one of the most important things to me is that this vest was made in America, by Americans for Americans and I have the only one like it in the world!

Very nice!

I decided on this particular vest after weeks of research. It was narrowed down to 3 choices. Legendary, Lil Joes, and the Fox Creek. I probably couldn't have gone wrong with the other two choices, but preferred the black lining. The price was also considerably less than Lil Joes and slightly less than Legendary. The vest shipped promptly and I was extremely impressed upon first glance. I received the vest just in time for the Laughlin River Run and was a good opportunity to break in the vest. Well to my surprise, the vest needed no break in. Super soft, supple leather! The weight of this vest is probably 3 seasons here in AZ, with it being just a lil thick for the summers here. Stitching, buttons and zippers all seem to be high quality. The sizing was spot on. I measured 48" across my chest and decided to order the 52" vest so I can layer. The length is perfect if you are off the bike (all the cheap "generic" vests run really short). When you are on the bike, its a tad long and bunches on the bottom, which in turn causes the rest of the buttons to pucker a little. This is my only complaint with an overall fantastic purchase!

A dream came true

I spent almost an year and a half trying to find a vest that would fulfill my need. I was disappointed more than a once when testing and buying from anonymous sellers.

One day when I actually had forgotten the whole "vest-searching-project" I followed a link from Finnish Harley forum and ended at the Fox Creek Leather web page. I read a couple reviews and faced my dream vest.I decided immediately to buy it.

My past experiences from the Internet-shops and so on were not so good but somehow I decided to try one more time, and now it was Fox Creek. A company I didn´t know, but had read a couple of compliments about it. I thought that I would like to have a vest that would look good when I leave it open when wearing a t-shirt and on the other hand it wouldn´t look too "tight" when wearing a riding jacket. I like the vest a bit short so that my t-shirt would fairly come over the vest from the bottom.

My first problem was the size. While leaving the order on the web page I left text in the info box about the size. I don´t know if the people work in Fox Creek 24/7, but it seemed like it because the answer came way sooner that I expected (actually all the answers to my emails). I exchanged a couple of emails with (Scarlett) Fox Creek. They had me convinced that the size that would fit best would be 46.

Again my expectations were exceeded, the package came so quickly. The shipment took less than a week. I have to say that if you are buying a vest and don´t really know what stle and (the main point) where to get it, I will recommend Fox Creek Leather. In my opinion it is a company that exceeds customer needs and provides world class service and products.

Buffalo Nickel Vest Top Rate

Following a great deal of research, I purchased the Buffalo Nickel Vest from Fox Creek Leather. I couldn't have made a better choice. The quality, fit, and appearance are absolutely first rate. My wife likes my vest so much that we are going to purchase one for her once she decides which vest she like best. I'll say this in all sincerity, the minute you take this vest out of the box, you know that you've made the right choice.

I did experience a small problem when I received the wrong vest extender. I sent an e-mail to Fox Creek in the morning and Fox Creek customer service folks responded and got a replacement in process a few hours later. This kind of service will keep these great people in business for many years to come. And not only is the buffalo nickel vest top rate, it arrived only 2 days after I submitted the order.

May Leather

For a Florida boy that is an oxymoron. But a leather vest can be used for all occasions, especially when the sun has dipped below the horizon hours earlier and you are riding down US1 from Daytona towards Cocoa Beach. Brrrr.

I ordered a braided buffalo nickel vest from Fox Creek Leather this past April, 2005. I promptly received the product, tried it on and found out it was too large. So I called Fox Creek on a Wednesday and spoke to Melinda who took the time to ensure the replacement I was to be sent was the correct size. Melinda sent me a replacement that I received on Friday!

What I received was a beautiful 3.25-4.5oz leather vest, that fit perfectly. The leathers Paul Trachy sells are drum dyed, naked leather. Not the leather-dust swept off the floor and glued together. The braided buffalo nickel vest has laced sides that I laced to “just closed”. (I can see me having to loosen up the sides this coming October when the wife and I do our annual Fall Colour Run to Kentucky though!) The genuine buffalo nickels add that old school touch to the vest. The braiding complements my wife’s leather and the pockets do hold paper currency at slab speeds!

I wore this vest for a 3100 mile ride this past May 2005, right after having received it. My travels from Florida during that trip included the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Skyline Drive. Upstate Maryland, the District, and loads of rural roads in-between. The only time I thought about not wearing the vest was when I was hiking up to Linville Falls! Full leathers and a 2 mile hike will warm ya up!

So I do recommend this vest! The word is spreading about Fox Creek. My friends at bonnevilleamerica.com are bragging about a certain homegrown America company in Independence VA: Fox Creek Leathers!

An Old Favorite

This vest is very quickly becoming an old favorite. Since the moment I put it on three weeks ago I knew that the quality, fit, and functionality of this vest would make it one of my favorite things to wear. The leather is superb (in texture, thickness, and craftsmanship).

The fit is great - another testimony to Fox Creeks helpfulness when ordering - I have a classic vest in a 46, but you suggested a 44 in the jean vest - and as usual you were right! The look is classy but casual. As you can tell, Im really sold on Fox Creek - the company and the products. I’ve never had a better experience with any company. Unbelievable Quality

I looked at a lot of vests and took a chance ordering by phone from Fox Creek. For some reason, I believed what I read. Ordered Monday morning and package at my door Tuesday morning. Let me tell ya...this is one fine garment. Unbelievable fit and finish. The thing is perfect, and true size. I have never had a garment on...especially leather...that fit this comfortably. The leather is soft....the likes of which I have never seen or felt. I cannot say enough about this article. I will purchase all leather items from Fox Creek in the future, and highly recommend to all.

Big Brown Delivered The Shipment And Fox Creek Delivered On The Quality.

11 April 2005, Big Brown delivered the shipment and Fox Creek delivered on the quality of this incredible vest. Resulting from the recommended fitting instructions on the web site, this vest is a perfect fit. I never thought I'd fit in a size 52, but I couldn't be happier with the fit.

As for the quality, I have a Hein Gericke riding jacket, which the leather quality is superior, however; in contrast is definitely second place compared to the Fox Creek leather...a casual observation. I may exercise a need to buy an 4-season jacket.

Great vest and service

Got my Jean Biker Vest yesterday and the product definitely was great quality for the money. Due to my size the vest was a little tight and the next size up, XXL, is kind of too loose. Your customer service suggested 2 vest extenders to rectify the problem, which I considered a wise choice. They even gave me a discount on the extenders! Great Quality Leather Vest

I Ordered this vest and was at my house in 3 days very fast. I thought it would be stiff and need break in but this is great leather and fell right in place. Good thick leather not the cheap stuff. My brother has a Legendary and this is a better quality vest, he wishes he had this vest now. The vest did run a little long. When you are standing looks great but when you get on the bike it bunches a little when I am just wearing a t-shirt. When I have a sweatshirt on it fits great. Very pleased with the vest I really have no reason to complain I usually have no luck with mail order size clothing, but they really know what they are doing.

Top Quality

This is a top quality vest. It beats anything in the Harley shop. Plus its made in the USA. The inner pocket (left side) is deep and wide. My open hand fits in it up to the wrist, and the width is greater than my clenched fist. The outside pockets are very well designed: my open hand goes up to the knuckles, the bottom of the pocket is the bottom hem of the vest, and each side of the pocket is a seam of the vest (see the picture). These pockets are going to last. They are not going to tear inside and be worthless. I was uncertain if the vest would fit. I measured my chest as instructed on the website and ordered the size indicated. The size is exactly right. Now I'm certain I can later order a jacket and it will fit. Lastly, the order arrived promptly, and I was given a UPS tracking number to check up on its status.

Fully outfitted!

We live in a fairly small, rural town in Northern Arizona. After my husband bought his first Harley - an 06 Ultra Classic, we set about to outfit him in requisite leathers. I already had leathers from a previous lifetime of riding, so I had good stuff and knew the difference between good and junk. There was NOTHING at the local dealership (just high priced crap)nor at the other bike stores around. We were going to have to drive to Phoenix (a 200+ mile roundtrip) just to find some other stores to shop. Just say no to sweat-shop labor.

Just received my vest and can easily say there is no comparison to anything else I have looked at. This is not made in Korea, China, or any other country who pays their workers in chickens and goats milk, (I do count my blessings). This is the first and last leather vest I will buy. Could Not Be More Pleased

Hey guys, just received my new jean leather vest-I could not be any more pleased with the fit and quality of this product. In your description it said that the vest came with an inside pocket--what it didn't say was that it is a leather lined pocket, very sturdy with the loop on the inside. I carry a concealed weapon and this pocket is ideal for a small or medium frame automatic or small or medium frame revolver, as well as being more than sturdy enough to give me years of use. Thank you again for making such a great vest, I am sure you will be getting a lot of orders from South Florida as soon as the weekend gets here and my brothers see it.
