The Men's Grayson Motorcycle Jacket has a full sleeve removable Thinsulate® liner, neck warmer, dual inside pockets, and snap side adjustment. The venting system has two arm vents and two rear exit vents, and is cut long in the back with a padded kidney panel. Dual sleeve and rear vents move the air easily through a mesh shell while an internal wind flap stops it cold at the zipper. A zip out full sleeve Thinsulate® liner completes the climate control package. Armor provisional pockets in the elbows, shoulders, and back allow you the option of using body armor with your motorcycle jacket (back armor and shoulder and elbow armor available separately).
NOTE:
T-Pro Armor may not fit all shoulder pockets unless it is trimmed to fit. Elbow and back armor should fit correctly without trimming.

I was in the market for a new leather jacket, the zipper on my old one, the "Legend", finally gave out after 20 some years. It must have shrunk a little too during that time.
I checked the few local shops in central NY, HD jackets are nice but not on a Valkyrie. I was bound and determined not to buy sight unseen from the internet, but I used the tool to look up different styles. The Grayson was everything I was looking for in a jacket. I knew right away, there were plenty of close up images on the website showing the attributes.
If I was going to spend the money I knew it would have to be built with the features I wanted. I bit the bullet and bought online, seeing that Fox Creek Leather had a lot of positive reviews on customer service, and it shipped within a few days. The Grayson is a great jacket. It was everything I hoped for as described in the website. Great fit and quality leather, you can't ask for anything more.

After deciding that I wanted a leather motorcycle jacket, I spent a lot of time researching all of the various brands out there...only to find that there are not many USA made leather jackets that offer good venting and body armor. The choices came down to Vanson and Fox Creek. Ultimately, I went with the Grayson and I have been very happy.
Initial impressions- The leather quality is top notch, fit is perfect. The hardware is high quality and the construction is robust. There are plenty of pockets to hold your stuff. The liner is warm, easy to install, and the neck gaiter is a nice touch. The body armor is of the highest quality(more on this later). The jacket also came with three free leather care products.
After Riding around 600 miles in my jacket- The jacket has continued to impress me. It is warm on cool days, and the venting is very effective at moving a lot of air past your body even on hot days. I have ridden a few days where there was a 50 degree temp. swing and the Grayson adapted to both extremes. I have been caught in two MAJOR rain storms while wearing the jacket. The first one soaked through the leather almost instantly...so I would advise folks to treat their leather with the provided waterproofing wax that comes with the jacket. The next shower took MUCH longer to get through the leather after I had applied the wax. Despite two complete soakings, the leather has remained soft and supple and did not bleed any color.
Concerns- There are only two issues I've had with this jacket. First, the sleeve zips do not close the cuffs enough to provide a good tight seal around my wrists, so cold air can go right up my arms. Second, while the body armor quality is top notch, Fox creek has decided to use the same pad for the elbows and shoulders which causes some odd shifting of the elbow pads(smaller armor pouches may fix this). The special pads are available and every other jacket I've owned had location specific armor- which I believe would be more protective. The back pad, however, is perfect.
In conclusion, aside from the two problems outlined above, I have been very pleased with this purchase. The quality and fit are great, and I can't say enough about the customer service. Add in a lifetime warranty for a USA made product and I don't see how you can go wrong!

Grayson was just what I wanted, 2009-04-22

After months of looking and comparing and trying on motorcycle jackets (not that I didn't enjoy the ride to the shops) I could not find exactly what I wanted in a size that fit. Then when I found something I wanted, I would do the research and find out that the leather would bleed the first time you ran through some rain.
I could open a consulting company with the information I learned while looking for a good quality motorcycle jacket. Reading the HD Forums I studied the debates between Leather-up and Fox Creek and did some more research.
I am really not an order by mail person especially when it comes to clothing. I want to see it on me first before I shell out the money. But I took the step for what I hope to be a high quality life time investment and called Fox Creek. Rachel was GREAT in taking my order and answering my questions about sizing and was fully knowledgeable in her answers. I was going out of town on Friday so I ponied up and paid the two day shipping so the jacket wouldn't be sitting on the door step over the weekend. Surprisingly I got it the next day (less than 24 hours)
The Grayson fit like a glove and was exactly what it was advertised to be! Sizing was right on - Way to go Rachel. I took it for a cruise at lunch and know that I will be wearing this jacket for years to come.
Great job in your product and quality Fox Creek I am glad I purchased from you.

Coolest looking jacket ever........., 2010-01-19

The clean look of the jacket is what got me interested in the first place. That and the timeless design. Lots of jackets nowadays look like kids drawings with all the loud colors and weird designs.
I was looking around quite some time because my old jacket was causing scratches on the tank. (Perfecto from Schott). Since I ride sports bikes and lean forward it doesn't really work out. Plus I always had a cold lower back. Racing jackets (here in Europe at least) are either suitable in really nice weather and are too snug or become bulky when they are also suited for colder weather. They only make sense when you sit on the bike. If you walk around with your jacket on, your arms are bent and it's only comfortable when you don't close the zipper. Plus they always have something (design, lettering, weird colors on it) that I don't like.
When I saw the Black Rock jacket I wanted one. Too bad it's being discontinued and my size isn't available. So I checked out the Grayson. I have been looking at the testimonials for this jacket and I usually take them with a grain of salt. But I can now safely say that the reviews are accurate. When there was a special offer I immediately bought it.
It arrived rather fast. Too bad that the Customs Officers decided that the Ministry of Finances needed some funding.
Other than that, what can I say? The jacket fits perfectly and I'm glad I measured myself with a sweater on because now in the winter I can still wear it. The neck warmer is something that should be mandatory for all these kind of jackets. I went for a ride in the cold and it was warm and windproof.
The fit is good, the leather is already broken in, all the features are handy and useful and best of all it looks great.
I always thought that the price was a bit steep but it's worth every euro. It's actually rather affordable because the exchange rate is very profitable now for us Europeans.
My only regret is that I never bought one earlier.
