According to legend, an old biker carrying gifts for local orphans was ambushed by Evil Road Spirits (AKA Road Gremlins) late one chilly December night. He went down, his leg trapped between chrome and asphalt. Unable to kick free of the bike, he slid a scraped hand into his saddlebag and hurled toys at the oncoming evil spirits. He wrapped his fist around the last of his ammunition: a bell. Knowing this was his last chance he didn't fling the bell, but rang it instead. Confused, his tormentors grabbed their ears and retreated. Bikers camping nearby heard the bell and scattered the spiteful creatures. Grateful, the old biker gave his rescuers a bell.
Legend goes on to say that attaching a small bell to your bike traps the Road Gremlins inside the bell where the constant ringing drives them insane. They lose their grip and fall to the pavement creating potholes wherever they land. The closer the bell is to the ground, the better - Gremlins don't have a chance to come to their senses and grab back on as they fall.
The Ride Faster bell has a rider chasing an Angel and the phrase "Never ride faster than your angel can fly," the Flag bell has Old Glory on the front with stars on the back, and the Angel bell has a plain reverse side.
