The Double Twisted Mouth Snaffle Bit has a 5" offset double twisted copper and black steel mouthpiece and 3" loose rings. A snaffle bit is the most common bit used and acts with direct pressure. Ring snaffle bits work on the bars of the mouth, the corners of the mouth and tongue. The twisted wire snaffle is a severe bit because it does not allow the horse to develop a soft, consistent connection with the bit. It is best used on a strong horse who leans heavily on rider's hands and does not respond to milder bits.
