We live in a fairly small, rural town in Northern Arizona. After my husband bought his first Harley - an 06 Ultra Classic, we set about to outfit him in requisite leathers. I already had leathers from a previous lifetime of riding, so I had good stuff and knew the difference between good and junk. There was NOTHING at the local dealership (just high priced crap)nor at the other bike stores around. We were going to have to drive to Phoenix (a 200+ mile roundtrip) just to find some other stores to shop. I stumbled upon the Fox Creek website, read the reviews and descriptions and it looked great, so took a flyer and ordered a men's classic jacket, buffalo nickel vest, chaps, and 2 pairs of gloves. When the box arrived I laughed at the packing box (meat and pork products) but got serious when I opened it up and found GORGEOUS leather products! Heavy! Soft! Excellent zippers and hardware! Stylish! I mean, first class, high quality, beautiful!! When my husband tried on the chaps - they were a perfect fit. No cutting necessary, no sagging, no bagging - just a perfect fit. He loved the Buffalo nickels on the vest - too cool! The jacket was everything I wanted him to be wearing and more. We could not be more pleased in your products - from the leather to the fit, to the incredibly LOW prices, we are thrilled and will definitely be spreading the word around town where to buy the best - Fox Creek Leathers. For a Florida boy that is an oxymoron. But a leather vest can be used for all occasions, especially when the sun has dipped below the horizon hours earlier and you are riding down US1 from Daytona towards Cocoa Beach. Brrrr.

I ordered a braided buffalo nickel vest from Fox Creek Leather this past April, 2005. I promptly received the product, tried it on and found out it was too large. So I called Fox Creek on a Wednesday and spoke to Melinda who took the time to ensure the replacement I was to be sent was the correct size. Melinda sent me a replacement that I received on Friday!

What I received was a beautiful 3.25-4.5oz leather vest, that fit perfectly. The leathers Paul Trachy sells are drum dyed, naked leather. Not the leather-dust swept off the floor and glued together. The braided buffalo nickel vest has laced sides that I laced to “just closed”. (I can see me having to loosen up the sides this coming October when the wife and I do our annual Fall Colour Run to Kentucky though!) The genuine buffalo nickels add that old school touch to the vest. The braiding complements my wife’s leather and the pockets do hold paper currency at slab speeds!

I wore this vest for a 3100 mile ride this past May 2005, right after having received it. My travels from Florida during that trip included the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Skyline Drive. Upstate Maryland, the District, and loads of rural roads in-between. The only time I thought about not wearing the vest was when I was hiking up to Linville Falls! Full leathers and a 2 mile hike will warm ya up!

So I do recommend this vest! The word is spreading about Fox Creek. My friends at bonnevilleamerica.com are bragging about a certain homegrown America company in Independence VA: Fox Creek Leathers!

In closing I would like to use the words of brother Jaeger, “Seriously, folks -- if you're in the market for new leathers, check em out. Their products are worth twice what you'll pay for em, their service is fast and efficient, and theyre really nice people.”

Buffalo Nickel Braided Vest, 2007-09-25

I bought the vest and it was too small. I called and had NO PROBLEMS or misunderstandings on the phone "we'll just get you out a bigger size" That's it, I said, yep...This is a GREAT company to do business with.

Before I could send the smaller vest back someone seen it and bought it from me. Service was so good I will be shopping here often.

And on the plus side, these items are "MADE IN THE U.S.A."

I just got the braided buffalo nickel vest in the mail. First, I received it in just 2 days. Second, dealing with Fox Creek on the phone was great. I wasn't sure what size I would be, but after telling them my measurements, they told me what size to get. The fit is fantastic and the woman I dealt with was very friendly on the phone. Third and most important, the vest is amazing. Looking at it, I would say it's the nicest one I've seen. Thick, soft leather; very well stitched with rolled edges; fully lined; and cut to fit well. All the details are in order. Overall, I can't wait to ride in it. I will definitely be ordering from Fox Creek again!
