The Men's Black Rock Motorcycle Jacket is made for people who ride fast. Lean forward a little into this leather jacket. It is cut short in the front so that when you do it won't bunch up into your chin. Sleeves are precurved. They are most comfortable when reaching forward. There is an "Oh yeah" moment when you lean forward and reach out where this motorcycle jacket fits like a glove.

The cinching system on the waist has five inches of free play allowing a snug fit even for those with an athletic cut. Two inside pockets (left snap and right zipper) are set in the leather facing where it won't rip out. Built for all weather riding, this leather jacket has vents that keep you cool while an internal wind flap keeps you warm.

The 1.4-1.6 mm leather this motorcycle jacket is made from is the crowning glory. This leather jacket is tough. Don't hang it up - throw it on the floor. If you are the guy who passed me on the D.C. beltway doing an infinite wheelie at 80 mph... order it next day air.

Armor provisional pockets in the elbows, shoulders, and in the back of this leather jacket allow you the option of using body armor with your jacket (back armor and shoulder and elbow armor available separately).

NOTE:
T-Pro Armor may not fit all shoulder pockets unless it is trimmed to fit. Elbow and back armor should fit correctly without trimming.

CRAFTSMAN, 2003-10-21

Just a few lines about the V1.8 Racing Jacket which I recently ordered from you; I am extremely happy with the jacket- a perfect fit (seems to be tailor made...). The quality of the leather is absolutely 1st class very soft & supple. Believe me, I am very happy that I came across your site while surfing the net. I was looking for a high quality leather jacket; when I say the images of the V1.8 I know that my searching was over. I also want to thank your helpful staff. Excellent service. I know a lot about high quality-(I work for the high end watch industry in Switzerland). The workmanship on the V1.8 jacket is in a nut shell: flawless. The people you have cutting and manufacturing the jackets are Master Craftsmen; keep them and keep them working in the USA.

Wishing you lots of success, I remain, respectfully yours,

Oliver Loeb

Jacket received - Thank you!, 2005-11-30

I have received the V 1.8 jacket and it fits just fine. Thank you. I was a little worried when I first tried it on that it was too tight, since it was snug around the waist and somehow seemed unnatural; but I figured I'd wear it and see if it might loosen up a little. It didn't loosen up very much, but when I took it riding, and after about 1 or 2 km, Oh Boy! I suddenly realized that this thing had perfectly molded to my body in my street-bike riding position! This jacket is meant to ride! I am sure it was designed on a positioned rider, not a standing one! Thanks everyone for your good judgment on the sizing.

Have a nice holiday!

Thanks!, 2003-10-16

I wanted to e-mail and let you know that I received a V1.8 jacket from you a few weeks ago and it's perfect! Thanks for taking the time to make it to my measurements. It fits like a custom jacket should.

I'd also like to say an extra special thanks to Chippy for the great customer service. Although we never even talked on the phone, I still feel that I got great personnel service through e-mails. I know that it can be easy to forget that a real person is on the other end of e-mails, but I always felt valued and important to Chippy and Fox Creek leather, even through the internet. I've already recommended your company to fellow riders in San Francisco and Fox Creek Leather will be the first place I go to get my next leather.

Thanks Guys!

Matt

The Real Deal, 2006-02-28

John Martin in his V 1.8
This is the real deal, this jacket. I shopped the net several days before I decided to chance a company I was unfamiliar with and it paid off. This is the first quality domestically produced jacket I have bought and I'm very pleased. Will you convey this appreciation to the guys/girls on the production line. They do superb work and should get credit for that. And thanks to all at Fox Creek for not caving and sending work overseas like lots of less-loyal-to-their-employees-companies have done. You guys are tops and I'll put out the word to my friends.

Simply the best, 2004-10-28

by Casey Lyon from Burlington, VT

My jacket selection process took me to a number of local leather & bike dealers as well as all over the net. My requirements were simple: leather, USA made, vented, thick, and a good value.

I looked at all the big names and didn't see a good match to my requirements. The jackets made in the USA were priced beyond their value. My last jacket was a [competitor] purchased around 93. It was US made and lasted well. I treated it every year with leather dressing.

I found Fox Creek and thought they were almost too good to be true. Then I read some reviews on peoples personal sites regarding their experience with Fox Creek and knew I found the jacket maker for me. The V1.8 was particularly well suited for me as I ride a VFR800, it met my above requirements, and the clean styling couldn't be beat. I ordered my jacket online on a Tues (May 4th). With free shipping, I figured it would take a week to get it. Two days later my jacket was delivered!

I followed the sizing guide on Fox Creeks site and sure enough it fit just like it should. The leather was supple AND thick. After adjusting the waist straps and taking out the liner, I felt like I was in a jacket made just for me.

I rode some 2k miles this season and really got to put this jacket through its paces. The venting is well positioned. Even on 80-90 degree days, my core had plenty of airflow. I would unzip 1/2 way for slower traffic as well as unzip the cuffs, but encountering that was rare on the back roads. The one downpour I got caught in, I stayed totally dry in the area covered by the V1.8.>

This fall I took a ride on a day with a high of 52. It was time to try the thinsulate liner and boy did it work like a charm. My core temp stayed right where it should. I did wear long sleeves, pant liners, thick socks, and a neck warmer as well.

As a joke, I often toss my jacket to different riding partners and every one has noted how heavy and well constructed it is. I haven't knocked anybody over yet, but it's been close!

Caution: be sure any chair or coat rack you hang this jacket on is well balanced. It will take down any that are not up to the job.

The only break-in I suggest is keeping the cuffs zipped so the leather in between will conform to the shape. I would recommend this jacket to anybody riding a CAFE style bike. It is comfortable and versatile and clearly made by people with an eye for quality. Best jacket on the market at any price. Best value on the market at Fox Creeks price!

Thanks to the Fox Creek Leather, I have my dream jacket, 2007-07-24

by Brian Tinkler from Westminster, CA

Like many long time riders, I had accumulated a small collection of leather jackets over the years. Because leather jackets never really wear out, they get retired to the closet. One day last winter I took a look at my collection and decided it was time to pitch all those old jackets, most of which no longer fit me, and buy myself my dream jacket.

Now, I've been riding a good long time (35+ years), and I've owned a number of leather jackets, so I knew what I wanted in a quality leather motorcycle jacket.

I started my search at the usual places. The first thing I noticed was that most of the off the shelf jackets came in S, M, L, XL, sizes. Well, I know that good quality jackets come in suit sizes, like 42, 44, 46. The other thing I noticed is none of the major brands say where their jackets are made, this usually indicates to me that their jacket is made off shore some place, by people that don't know a thing about motorcycles, let alone motorcycle jackets.

As I continued to search the web, I came across a company in Virginia, named Fox Creek Leather. They claimed to make quality leather jackets, in the USA no less. As I viewed their selection I spotted "my" jacket, the jacket I wanted to buy. It was a V1.8 (now discontinued). Seeing as I'm an old school cafe racer kind of guy, the V1.8 was what fit my riding style best. I did some more research on the web and found a couple of reviews that praised the Fox Creek quality. I was sold, time to order up.

Now, may experience is not what you would call a "typical" Fox Creek experience; First I noticed that the V1.8 was not immediately available. I called Fox Creek, and sure enough they would have to make me up a jacket as they don't typically keep the V1.8 model in stock. This made sense, as I noticed that most of the Fox Creek Leather goods were targeted to the "V Twin" market, and rightfully so, as this is the largest group of riders todays. Next I asked about sizing... I'm 6"2"", about 200lbs, more or less therefore I was thinking a "long" jacket may be right for me. The lady at Fox Creek agreed that perhaps a 46 Long may be my size, and if not, I could always return it.

Now, timing is everything, and in my case, my timing was not the best. When I ordered my V1.8, it was February 2007, and every February everyone in the motorcycling business is preparing for Daytona's Bike Week. So my V1.8 order was delayed until after Bike Week. That's ok with me, I have several sets of riding gear, so I was not in "need" of a new leather jacket, but rather I just "wanted" a new leather jacket. Time marches on...

The day finally came, my new Fox Creek V1.8 jacket arrived! It turns out that a 46 "Long" is REALLY LONG! Too long for me in both the arms and the torso. I call Fox Creek, and they simple say send it back and they'll make me a 46 regular to replace it. Since Fox Creek had to build another V1.8 from scratch, another long wait began.

It's about this time Fox Creek contacted me and asked if they could replace my V1.8 order with their new "The Black Rock" model. Well, the extra thick 1.8mm leather of the V1.8 model was not a show stopper for me, so I agreed to the switch to a The Black Rock model, which was still made from a very stout 1.4-1.6mm leather.

My new The Black Rock jacket finally arrives, and it's "almost" perfect. Seems someone made the sleeve openings way too big. It happens. Another call to Fox Creek, and once again they offer the make me a new jacket.

Third's the charm; The fit this time is spot on, leather quality is superior to anything I've ever owned, and the craftsmanship is heirloom quality. I'm in heaven.

One thing I noticed about The Black Rock jacket over the old V1.8 is that it has pockets in the lining for C.E. ballistics. I bought me a set at the local motorcycle parts store, and sure enough they dropped right into place. Nice to know you have that little extra protection in there, just in case.

I hope you give Fox Creek Leather a try. They're good folks, and they make a "quality" leather product. The price is right, and they're made right here in the USA.

Ride safe, ride often!
